Moonstruck (Romantic Comedy)

Cher, Nicholas Cage, Vincent Gardenia, Olympia Dukakis

This is a wonderfully heartwarming film that unfolds like a good play, never seeming static or stagey. Cher, as an independent young widow, agrees to marry an older man and then finds herself inexplicably drawn to his misfit younger brother (Cage). Oscar winning script by John Patrick Shanley is full of wonderful vignettes and observations of Italian American families, Dukakis won an Oscar for her role as Cher's Mother.
