Northport Community Arts Center Coming Events:

Movie -- Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 2:00 pm

Last of the Mohicans (1992) Drama

Starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Madeline Stowe, Russell Means

Rousing, kinetic update of the James Fennimore Cooper classic replete
with 1990s sensibilities, potent depiction of violence and a
charismatic central performance by Daniel Day-Lewis as Hawkeye. Never
fails to entertain. Evocative score by Trevor Jones and Randy Edelman.

4 stars, R (adult content, violence), color, 117 minutes

Shown on the big screen at the Northport Community Arts Center located
at Northport Public School. (Donations appreciated to cover expenses.)

Walking Track

The walking track and exercise equipment at Northport Public School is
available to the public. One mile is equal to 14 times around the
track plus another 30 feet. To get to the track, enter the school
through the main front doors and turn right, proceeding to the first
hallway. Then turn left going to the second door on the right for the
stairway leading up to the track and exercise equipment. Use at your
own risk.

February 22 – March 6, 2008

Booster Pizza Sale

Northport students in grades K-8 are selling pizza kits, cookie dough,
bread sticks, salad fixings, and pies from Little Caesar's to raise
money for the Booster Club. These funds support booster activities
such as the homecoming, Halloween, field trips, etc. Delivery will be
at the school on March 14, 2008, from 5 to 7 pm. To order, see a
student in K-8 or for more information call Jeremy Connolly at

386-5520.

Senior Class Salad Luncheon & Raffle

The Northport Public School senior class is sponsoring a salad
luncheon and raffle to help pay for their senior trip. Tickets are
available from any Northport senior and will also be available at the
door. The luncheon and raffle will be held in the small gym. Luncheon
tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children or $20 per family. Raffle
tickets are one for $1 or six for $5.

Note: If anyone has tap shoes that they would like to donate to the
school, Jeremy Evans can use them in his class. They can be left at
the school's front office.
